Baubles, Sparkles and Chains, Oh My...

One of my favorite jewelry destinations on the web is Bauble Bar.  Their jewelry is on-trend and affordable with extremely friendly customer service.  They only have a store in New York, so I was pretty excited when I found out they were holding a pop-up shop at Sophia boutique in the city.  So I hit up the opening party and made it a moms night out, and met up with some friends post shopping.

I styled my new Philip Lim for Target sweater for the unseasonably warm temps with shoes and wedge sandals...you know it is a big night out, when I wear high wedges and eyeliner...ha! I chose this sweater versus the "pow" sweatshirt from the Philip Lim for Target collection because the silk sleeves and leopard pattern.  Also, I have accumulated quite a few sweatshirts for the fall season!

I had a great time at the Bauble Bar pop-up shop opening.  Of course, I had to purchase some baubles and I chose the necklcae that I styled up casual the next day for carpool and errands...

I had been on the lookout for a tortoise piece and I thought this chunky necklace was all sorts of perfect.  Since it made a statement on it's own, I style it with a sold tank and shorts.  Then I added a patterned denim shirt and leopard loafers to add texture and layers.  I think next, I am going to style the great necklace with a navy and white striped dress for brunch this weekend!

Tons of exciting news on the job front...Once things take shape, I will definitely will share!!

You Cannot Practice Without a License...

On Friday, I took another step toward a career in nursing...CNA license test.  85 questions on a scantron...who knew they still made those things, not me.  Pass, and I am a certified health care worker in Illinois...fail, and I just wasted my whole summer and I have to start again...
I am pretty sure I passed, one bridge crossed...a ton more to go...

I wanted to be comfy for the test, so I went with boyfriend jeans and a sweatshirt.  I added some jewels to fancy up all my casual...

Sick of these shoes yet...not me!  They are so perfect for running errands and days spent with the boys and carpool.  The kicks add some fun to any jeans and a t-shirt.  Speaking of jeans, these boyfriend jeans from the Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale are another one of my newest favorites.  Soft, comfy, stretchy...I might never want to wear skinny jeans again!!  They might not be the most complimentary to my curvy shape, but I sure do love them and that is really all that matters!

Please Make Up Your Mind...

95 degrees in September is just too much for me.  This summer has been pretty mild as a whole, so I know I should not complain too much, but the weather the last two days been brutal.  Nothing like sitting at Jack's soccer practice for am hour...cannot stop sweating...

But, on the wack-a-do opposite end of the spectrum, it was 71 degrees last week.  I was so excited for the cooler temps, I dug my mint green jeans and leopard loafers out of the back of the closet!

But...Friday it is supposed to be in the low 70's again!  I so yearn for fall to be actually here to stay!  I am getting pretty sick of sandals, breezy dresses, shorts.  I have only bought a few fall pieces so far and I just cannot wait to style them up...especially the leopard print Dolce Vita ankle boots!

Nothing new on the job hunt front...I take the state test on Friday, so maybe the search will pick up after I "officially" am certified by the state of Illinois.  Now that both boys are back in school, I feel so guilty not working...

No Gluten In These Shorts...

Yep...I am still alive.  Between getting the boys ready and back to school, to soccer practice and games, the mounds of errands and appointments I ignored all summer due to school and studying for my state certification next week, I just have not had the time or energy to blog...but, I am back in action...outfits, job search and my new gluten free lifestyle.

Since summer temps have finally arrived...it is about time, since fall is around the corner... I have been styling shorts lately...

No need for a necklace when you already have on on your shirt!

I probably never discussed it before, but I have had stomach issues for the last few years...I will spare you the details.  Me and my doctor decided a gluten free diet might alleviate my problems.  So, beginning the start of last week, I have been eating gluten free and it seriously amazing how much better I feel already!!  To start, I have lost about 3 inches from my abdomen.  Besides making my feel better in my clothes, the de-bloat has alleviated the pressure and soreness on my scar tissue lump.  Also, ability get food through my body...bathroom issues...have improved amazingly!

I was worried that cooking and getting gluten free foods would be a issue, but Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and the world wide web has provided everything I need!  Last night, Alex and I made gluten free brownies and they were delicious.  So, darn delicious that I ate the whole pan!  My favorite dinner recipe baked spaghetti squash with vegetables and topped with cheese...very yummy!  I even found gluten free pizza crust today at whole Food's...I was so excited, I might have just done the happy dance right there in the store!

On the job hunt front...still currently unemployed and taking my state accreditation test next Friday.  I had a job interview last week...thought it went pretty well... I guess I was wrong...no dice! After I pass my test, I plan to hit the job search hard...fingers crossed I am fully employed at a hospital by the holidays.

Back to blogging...here I come...brace yourselves...
