Friend Friday

Katy from Modly Chic started a feature where she has bloggers share their opinion on specific topic. The topic for this week is blogger envy/jealousy.

1. How do you define jealousy?
I say jealousy is seeing something somebody has or is, mentally or physically, that you want to imitate or have for yourself

2.When do you find you experience a bit of blogger jealousy?
I think I feel jealous when I see others whose style I want to imitate or when other have clothes I want, but could never afford or wear on my body. I also have jealousy when other bloggers have lots of followers or comments all the time.

3. What types of blogs or which bloggers are you a little jealous of?
I definitely find myself being jealous of other fashion blogs where the girls have such great style. I covet some of the amazing clothes that they wear and they body they have to wear them. I have trouble coming to terms sometimes that I have a curvy body and certain clothes just don't work on me. Also I get jealous of others bloggers lives...all the exciting things they do their fascinating jobs.

4.From the time we are little we are taught jealousy is a bad thing, but it can also inspire us to be better. Have you changed the way you do things, the content of your blog, etc...
I have not really changed the way I do things, but I have been influenced to think outside my comfort zone when it comes to style and fashion. I have been motivated to try new things and clothes that I would have never felt comfortable wearing before...it is a good thing

5.What is the best way to overcome jealousy in the blogosphere and in life?
I am just trying to figure out who I am and just try to be the best version of me that I can be. In the end, all we can be is ourselves

I understand being curvy and not being able to wear the clothes that other fashion bloggers can wear. That can make me a little envious too! And you're right - all you can be is yourself at the end of the day!

stepping out of our comfort zones is a very good point and one i couldn't agree more with! it can only help us to grow as an individual. :o)

I have to say, I think one of the best things I've learned from the whole blogging process is to think outside my comfort zone. It is so liberating and a little scary. Love it.

Amen! I've got hips and boobs and many of the items most girls wear--I cannot!

However, the blogosphere has paved a way for "plus size" (hate that term)and I enjoying getting inspiration from people like me.

I've only RECENTLY started posting pictures of myself, and I was motivated after I realized that people enjoy looking at pictures and not just reading content. I figured this out after looking at all my favorite blogs and why I liked them.

Happy Friend Friday!

I very much like you as yourself. But I find I feel very much the same way when it comes to seeing another girl's body and feeling jealous. Also quite jealous of the amazingly professional photography they've got going on! Sheez!
