Blue Jean Baby Queen...

Pastels...the colors of choice over at Everybody Everywhere...

Good think I noticed someone on Twitter last night lamenting the fact that the were not prepared for EBEW tomorrow, or I would have totally forgotten about styling my pastels.  After spending quality time digging through my closet last night, I realized I don't wear a lot of pastels.  My wardrobe consists of a lot of blacks, browns, neutrals and bright primary colors.  The only pastels I could find were a new floral sun dress I just bought at Target which mother nature deemed too cold to wear today...a balmy 41 degrees and this blazer and these loafers.  Nothing like pastel plaid tweed...

Like my designer denim... Not being a real big fan of the way I look in jeans, I never wanted to spend over $75 for denim.  Being short, with muscular thighs and an incision covered midsection, buying jeans is not a chore I enjoy.  But, while browsing Hot Mama last week, I was telling the sales lady about how I always wear skirts and dresses, but had not idea what to wear to the baseball game, since I don't have any jeans.  So was determined to find me a pair that fit my body and were on sale...I was skeptical.   I tried on two pairs that didn't really flatter, but the third pair was a match.  This is pair of low rise, but not to low, skinny leg, dark wash and stretchy perfection from Level 99. They are a bit long, but nothing that a cuff or two wont solve.  Since they were on sale, I only felt slightly guilty about the purchase.   I see them getting a tons of wear since I will be going back to dressing casual more often...more details on that at a later date...
I pathetically love my new jeans!!

Go check out how fabulous ladies from around the internet are styling their pastels over at

I keep hearing about this Hot Mama store from Minnesotans and Illinoisans, and I just saw that we're getting one at the mall between work and home. I'm interested to check it out.

I really love the jeans on you! You can't go wrong with a classic dark denim like that and the slim leg looks so tailored and chic! I also adore the loafers, they're a great touch of spring style. My outfits are usually darker and neutral colors too, so I've been pushing myself to add more color. Lovely outfit!

Those shoes are such a great color. I wonder if I have any pastels. Hmmm, now I'm curious.

Instead of leaving another comment, I wanted to say how much I loved your striped dresses. Yummy.
