It's Hip To Be Square?

Worn to work Wednesday, June 8

Shoes-DV for Target/Dress-Calvin Klein/Jewelry-Black Sheep

Just a simple, conservatively cut, basic dress, but in a subtle print.  I styled it with black and grey ballet flats for a conservative meeting in the morning...then swapped them out for these sandals for the rest of the stifling hot day.

Worn to Work Thursday, June 9

Purple, ruffles, big dangly earrings, cool pattern it all!!

I came to a realization today...I am not hip.  Know what...I am ok with that.  I had a meeting today at a trendy restaurant with a publication that is all about the hip places and people who want to see and be seen. There was a time in my life when I went to the newest restaurants, loved to go out to bars and be seen.  For a moment today, I let myself feel so inferior, but then I realized I am 35 (next month) and I finally ok with who I am and what place I am at in my life...and that is huge accomplishment!

I'm pretty sure you're fun to be around too. :)

I love that black print dress. CK dresses seem to fit me better than any other brand I have ever found and I always try to snag them off the racks at TJ Maxx/Marshall's/Ross when I see them marked down!

"Hip" is a state of mind, don't you think? I think that if you are okay with who you are and aren't trying to be anyone else, then you ARE hip.

I tried on those sandals in the first outfit. they are super cute, but I went with a different pair that is flat. Should have picked up both :)

You look darling and I love the skirt in the second look. Great stripes!!
