A Long And Winding Road...

I am going through some sort of funk...mentally and physically, and I think my frustrations with my body and myself are being played out in what I have been wearing lately.  I have this lump of scar tissue above my scar on my abdomen...it is swollen and sore...the hard lump that pushes against the waist band of my pants making me just plain uncomfortable in my own skin. The more I look down and see the fabric from my shirt straining over the protrusion in my abdomen, the more I just want to curl up in a ball, hide under the covers and feel sorry for myself.  I need to remember it was just 14 months ago that I had the final surgery in a series of five...I need to remember it is just skin...flesh...and I am more then that!!

So, my outfits have been less than inspiring this week...but I share none the less...

Pants-Zara/Top-Gap/Belt-Target/Jewelry F21, Shopbop, Bauble Bar, JCREW

This shirt, pants, booties combination is usually a go to outfit for me when I want to fell good about the silhouette in the mirror...but today...meh...not a fan!!

Skirt, Belt-Target/Top-BR/Shoes Steve Madden/Jewelry-Lori's, H&M, F21, DIY

I am not looking for pity...this is my corner of the internet, so I am allowed to vent and wallow.  I know I had the surgeries done for the right reasons, but sometime I look at myself and feel such giant sadness with the lack of control I have over my body...

Time to snap out of it...

I think you look great, but I understand your frustration---the things we don't have control over can be the most frustrating. I've been in a big funk myself lately, so...here's to us snapping out of it soon! I love that BR top on you, btw.

Yes, you're allowed to wallow all you want. But not too long, because you deserve to be HAPPY and you shouldn't deny yourself that.

I personally you look fabulous! I know hearing it and feeling it are two different things, so I hope you start feeling it soon!

Hey, we all have days like that, so its perfectly fine to wallow for a while. Then just brush yourself off and be happy again! =)

I think you look fantastic, personally! And I really like that first outfit with the cute top and skinnies.

Despite not feeling feel you look great! I have a cardigan from Gap in the same print as your top - love it!

I think you look great, as always. You always have the most fun accessories--that's something that I feel like I don't do well with, and I could take a few tips from you :) I think everyone goes through funks like that-I'm sure things will turn around soon!
