Get Your Pencils And Scorecards Ready...

And so it begins....One of my favorite times of the year...the beginning of baseball season
I am a born and bred Cubs fan and baseball geek.  Ever since I was 5, except for the years I was away at college, my dad an I have been going to Cubs opening day at Wrigley Field.

Wrigley Field...watching baseball...one of the few places and things that can take me away from reality...one of the few things that actually relaxes me...quiets all the voices fighting for attention...

I have sat through many cold opening days...snow...rain.  Though nothing fell from the bright blue sky yesterday, it was really freaking cold...45 degrees so not sound so bad, but the wind kicked up the cold a notch.  To fight the cold, I layered...jeans, tank top, t-shirt, denim shirt, cardigan, trench coat and scarf...but, thanks to the wind, it was a cold 9 innings.

The first loss of the season...poor defense and crappy relief pitching...and the madness begins...I cannot wait for more!!!

Oh, Cubbies. I don't know how you die hards do it! That's a nice tradition with your dad. I'm back home this weekend, taking my Dad to our first Tigers game of the year today :)

Wow there's no sport i'd do that for! You must really love it! What a great tradition though, I feel that way about making jewelery or taking dance classes;)

I'm a huge baseball dork as well. We go to spring training every March and share a season ticket package so we go to about 20 home games a year. SF Giants. So, I'm with you. Favorite time of year!
