The Wind Howls In My Head

Pardon me while I try not to blow away...

Skirt-Fox's/Blazer,Tank Top-Gap/Shoes-Missoni Target/Necklace-Bauble Bar

The thought process behind this outfit...
I had a new business meeting today, so I wanted to dress conservative.  But, it was with a sports facility, so no suits necessary.  To stray from basic, I went with the lace skirt topped with a plain tank.  I love blazers for meetings since they instantly ad polish and this one is fun with tuxedo vibe with the satin lapels.  When the Missoni collection for Target first came out, these wedges were not on my radar.  But, when I stopped into Target last week, they were the only Missoni item left and happened to be in my size.  Since I returned all the other Missoni items I bought (except the black and white shirt see on this blog) I decided to spring for these pumps.  I think they ad a punch to the outfit, but wow, do my feet hurt!

So, this perspective client that we met with today was exactly my age...35...went to my rival high school and graduated the same year as me.  But now, at this current point in our lives, we are in such different places.  It just made me think...how did I get to where I am now... full-time working mom... living in the suburbs.  This was not my plan, but somewhere along the way, I made a decision to veer off in this direction... Too much pondering, my head hurts!

Love the shoes, even though they hurt. I just wore hees last night and my knee is all swollen today. I guess preggies shouldnt wear heels anyway...taught me a lesson! And yes, i'm going to find out the sex!!! I have to know for my crazy planning personality I've adopted recently...and, I used to be so laid back...ah well.

Great outfit! It's polished, but still has fun touches, like the lace skirt and those shoes. I LOVE those shoes! I had a pair kind of like that in my cart on Aersoles for pretty much all of last fall and winter. Now I REALLY wish I would've bought them.

I find myself wondering the same things!

I like the tuxedo details on your jacket with the lace skirt. Pretty and professional.

I love that you are mixing black and brown, and i love the lace skirt.

I really hope that in 10 years I find myself in a place that I am happy to be in.

Love this whole look! You look professional and pulled together, but not stuffy or too serious. The lace skirt and shoes are fabulous!

Sometimes I can get lost in my own thoughts like that as well, but I always come to the conclusion that I like where I am, however I got there! I love this gorgeous mix of textures! And of course I love the shoes--I have the same pair, and I'm reminded that I haven't shown them off on the blog yet!

Oh, I ended up with those shoes, too...and that was the extent of my Target Missoni purchases when all was said and done, because I took everything else back, too. But I love them paired with that skirt...and the lace overlay is gorgeous!

I tend to get a little sidetracked by those thoughts, too...this wasn't really the plan, so how did I end up here? But, it's a pretty sweet place to be, all the same :)
