I went to every opening day from age 5 to 18 with my dad, it was our ritual. I had the opportunity to go to the game this year, but since I was not feeling 100%, the desire to sit out in the cold rain watching the game was not really all there. So, I spent the day a parties at multiple bars where ESPN Radio was broadcasting.
My favorite party was for Mike and Mike in the Morning Show. Besides being on the radio, they are simulcast on TV, they are such a great mix of Mike Golic being an ex-professional athlete and Mike Greenberg growing up a fan. Mike Greenberg's first big job was at the same TV station here in Chicago where I started and ended my TV sports career.
Not a great start to the season, Cubs lost 6-30, but it was just day 1. I am long forward to a long and glorious season ahead.
Fashion-wise....what I wore to enjoy Opening Day.
I needed to wear something that would keep me warm and dry while going from bar to bar. I still have to wear leggings since my stomach incision is still sore and I really did not want to look like the hot mess that I felt like. So I went with a long cardi, belted, leggings, my favorite boots and lots of accessories. Probably not the most flattering silhouette, but it worked and I had a great day!

I disagree - I think it's a great silhouette on you! I like the mix of low-key colors as well. You look put-together and comfortable!
I hope you continue to heal up!
When I moved to Chicago that was one of things I fell in love with. Not baseball, but how dedicated fans are. I've lived in Seattle and LA - both have great pro sports teams, but fans are no where near the fans in Chicago.
Go Reds ;)
Glad you had a good time...great opening day outfit! Love the scarf/cardi combo!
I think you look cute! I really love that scarf. My only suggestion would be to try a skinnier belt and place it up higher. I really think you look adorable though!
I hope you start feeling much better and the incision isn't sore anymore.
