Food For Thought...

As some people know, I have a small photography business on the side.   I usually shoot kids...candids, portraits and families.  For my clients from the advertising agency I work for, I usually shoot stills for TV commercials, restaurant and room interiors and a few smaller food items.   Last Friday, I did my first big food shoot.  Photos were needed for their menu, website, brochures and social media.  I have to admit, I was pretty nervous about the shoot, but 4 hours, 12 dishes and 300 photos later....I was exhausted...and pretty darn proud of myself...

Just a few samples...

Just a sample of all the entrees... The empty plates...foods "sampled" after being shot...

The restaurant overlooks the water of Lake Geneva...such beautiful scenery.
Since I knew I would be on my feet all day, I wanted to wear something comfortable and easy to move around in.  But, my outfit also had to be dressy and chic, since this was a very important client.  Flat ankles boots, black jeans and polkadots made a perfect style for the day!

I am joining the Monday Mingle over at Mom Trends...

Congrats on lading a big job - hopefully the clients will be really happy and you can expand your business.

Love the outfit you chose, the sweater is so cute.

You look so cute! At least the food was edible - not like those "styled" shoots where they use glue for milk or stuff like that. :)

That's such an awesome opportunity for you! The photos turned out great. Just like out of a magazine. Now I'm hungry :) Heather

How cool! And that pizza looks yummy :) I really love food photography, especially when you read about some of the work that goes into "food styling" for things like magazines and cookbooks.

Your food photos look great! I always struggle to take good food photos--I can't say I've quite mastered it yet!
