We got a new client at work yesterday...I am going back to working part time again... Logistically, I am not sure how those two really happen at the same time... I am kind of having a hard time dealing this for two reasons... First, not working makes me feel like a failure. I know it is unrealistic, but I feel like I should be working... Second, I know this is very vain and materialistic of me, but I am not sure of how to dress casual for the summer heat. I like wearing skirt and dresses and sitting in an air conditioned office all day...I am not quite sure how to style up shorts for the summer and be comfortable...
The most important thing about only working part time is I get to spend more time with the boys. Instead of getting home at 7:30, I will be picking them up from camp and getting quality play time!
The whole thing is just a big change...and me, not being the president of the change is good fan club, is having a hard time adjusting. I thought we had everything sorted out with the babysitters, school things, job security, even wardrobe confidences but now, everything is up in the air again causing me uneasiness...
ok...back to work...

That sucks. I hate that unsettled feeling, too. You'll settle into a new "normal" though. And yay for quality play time!

You're stronger than you think, lady. You'll figure it all out, because you're smart and because you're capable.
And who says you have to wear shorts in the summer? I wear breezy cotton dresses. Much more comfortable, and cooler in my opinion.
Isn't weird how we all have these different ideals?
Just wear casual skirts and dresses! or cute bermudas with a blouse!
also- i think you have the BEST accessories ever. you do! you always have amazing accessories! jeal.
yay for more time with your boys!
That patterned dress looks great on you, and I like both of your necklaces.
Bummer about the change in schedule, but I'm sure it'll be fun spending more time with the boys this summer!
I only work in the office 3 days a week year-round, but I still wear dresses and skirts a majority of the time in the summer (yep, even when I'm home all day) because I don't do shorts. The occasional pair of crops/capris makes it into the rotation too. I'm sure you'll figure out how to do summer casual!
I like both of your outfits.
I'm sorry you're having a hard time. I'll keep you in my thoughts and I'm sending you a big cyber hug.
xo,
Tracy

BTW, it'll all work out. it's a good thing, don't feel anxious. and you don't have to wear shorts (though there are some cute ones out there!), you can still wear dresses and skirts to pick up your kiddos, i do it! it's great that you'll be spending more time with your boys!

I'd just like to shout a big giant "WORD" to this whole post. This is the longest I have been unemployed in my LIFE - 13 weeks tomorrow. I feel so useless. I know I shouldn't tie up my value as a person in any job, but... jeez. I'm glad you're at least working part-time and happy that it's allowing you more time with your boys! That is one upside, most definitely.
Well, I hope that the good aspects of part time work will eventually outweigh the bad! I think you can still wear dresses and skirts, just style them more casually. There's no reason you should have to change your style that's "you"!
i love your shoes in the first outfit, seriously attention grabbing.
