I got a new car...I love it!! It is a Kia Soul! We call it the Alien because that is what the color is officially called by Kia. The kids call it "mom's alien"...they love it too. It is one step down from an SUV, but, it still pretty big. The great about it not being an SUV it is fairly efficient on gas...No more getting gas three days per week at $60 a pop. I know the green color may not be for everyone, but didn't you parents teach you "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all"...enough said.
On the style front, this outfit is the epitome of comfort and summer for me...breezy sun dress flat sandals. But, I have come to realize that it might not be the most complimentary. The flat sandals and shorter hem make my legs look stumpy and the empire waist does not show that I actually have a waist.
So my internal debate is do I dress to make myself look my skinniest and flattering, or do I dress for comfort with touches of style. I think I always start this discussion when I wear this dress with flats, you think I would have learned by now...oh well!

Congrats on the new car! Ever since Adam and I rented a "squeeze green" Ford Fiesta in Scotland we've vowed that would be our next car's color :) I have a CRV and definitely love the size of a semi-SUV. P.S. Love the sandals.

Congrats on the new car! I like the color, and the nice thing about it is that you'll probably always be able to find it :)
I worry about short dresses with flats too, but then I like being comfortable, so it doesn't bother me for too long.
I think shorter hems make your legs look longer, and I love your red sandals. So there.

I think the Alien and his green color are pretty freakin' cool! And I love the dress with those sandals! I don't think your "summer comfort" outfit needs to change at all!
