Silk+throw up=LBD

Worn November 11

Dress-ATL/Booties,Tights-Target/Jewelery-H&M

So,I had this work party Wednesday night and I had my outfit all planned out. We got home from school, the boys napped, and I put on a silk plum wrap dress that I had been dying to wear. As I am about to put on my heels, I hear screaming downstairs. I go running down to the family room, slip on the stairs and run my tights, to find Jack screaming and covered in throw up...him and the couch and the floor!!
So I scoop him up and carry him in the bathroom, change his clothes and clean the couch and floor. Once everyone is calm, clean and cozy with blankets, juice and a bucket, on the couch, I realize my new silk dress is covered in throw up...I run upstairs and pull out my trusty LBD that I bought at Ann Taylor Loft about 3 years ago for $10. Then I noticed lace patterned tights that I bought on a whim for $4 at Target and had not had the guts to wear and I threw them on with the black booties that were in the front of the closet. I have never worn patterned tights or booties with a dress or skirt...but I thought this was a perfect opportunity to try something new...I think it worked.

Pardon the dark pictures...I took them on the way home from the party at about midnight..I am sure the people walking by were wondering what that girl was doing setting up her tripod and taking pictures on the side of the street.

Only Tuesday...

Worn to Work Tuesday, November 9

Dress-Nine West/Sweater-ATL/Shoes-Steve Madden

The photos do not really do this outfit justice...I felt great in this dress. I tried to mimic the vertical lines of the pattern on the dress with the ruffle front of the cardigan. Since I had meetings all day, I decided to tone down the shortness of the dress and be comfortable and wear my brogues...love them!
Is it really only Tuesday...wow, this week is going so slow!!

Nerd Inspiration

Worn to Work Monday, November 8

Skirt, Tank Top-Old Navy/Cardigan-ATL/Boots-Zara/Belt-Target

Today's outfit was inspired by fellow blogger What a Nerd Would Wear. I have always loved her style, masterful layering. So, today when I as deciding what to wear, I saw this cardi in the closet and thought...wrap it and sinch it with a belt... I love it, love how it shows my waist and makes my cardi more fitted.
Thanks What a Nerd Would Wear!

ReGenesis

Worn Saturday, November 4

skirt-Zara/Sweater-ATL/Boots-Steve Madden
I really like the way this outfit came together. I was looking in my closet for a denim skirt,my two pencil skirts are getting too big, and I found this one that I bought last summer. Love the button details and the pockets. Another striped shirt also with some fun buttons on the sleeves. This was the first time I have worn tights since last winter....almost forgot how much I love them. I am pretty sure my pasty white legs are not going to make another appearance until the groundhog sees his shadow.
so, we went bra shopping...not very exciting to most, but to me it was a step in the right direction.
Oh...the title post...My favorite TV show of all time is ReGenesis...It was a Canadian Sci-fi. One of the main characters was Dr. David Sandstrom, played by peter Outerbridge. He has not been on American TV in a while, but he popped up while I was watcing Nikita on Tivo. I love Canadian Sci-Fi

School Days

Worn to Work Thursday, November 4

Skirt-Old Navy/Top-Gap/Boots-Aldo/Scarf-Took from mom

I love this sweater...not a sweater really, but I heavy, thick t-shirt. Not sure if you can tell, but there is a zipper on the side, I am a sucker for zippers. I almost wore this top with a printed (red/blue/black sketches of Paris) but I felt that would be too much volume...maybe next time tucked in or with a thin belt.
Sometimes I feel like the degenerate mom...I let my two year old have a bottle before bed, I bribed Jack with candy and a new Matchbox car if he behaved at the doctor and got his flu shot. But today I feel like a great mom. I got Jack into the full day Kindergarten for next year...yippee!! Also, I just found a preschool for Alex for this winter. So today I feel like the mom of the week...where's my award...ha!

All Buttoned Up

Worn to Work Tuesday, November 2

Skirt-Old Navy/Shirt-Target/Blazer-ATL/Boots-ATL/Necklace-Black Sheep

Very exciting...I am wearing a button front shirt today...and it doesn't pull!! I am not exaggerating when I say I have not worn a shirt like this in at least 10 years. I purchased this blazer two weeks ago...I had been lusting after it until I had a coupon. Then once I had it in my hot little hands, I was at a loss how to style it. I think today's choice worked, but I am not sure what else to wear it with...any suggestions?
I am off to the doctor in a little while...hopefully he will say that the infection is gone and he will not have to open me up again...I will keep you guys posted. Thanks for all your support throughout this whole surgery and aftermath.
Getting back to the normal routine of work...school...play...and lots of driving is so tiring!

Hit the Target

Worn to Work Monday, November 1

dress-Target/Boots-Steve Madden/Jacket-JCrew

I know my pictures are kind of off today...I waited until after work and it was too shady, so I tried to adjust the color and I just made things worse.

Back to reality....work, school, long drives back and forth...my version of normalcy.
On my lunch break today to stopped by Target. I swear I never walk out of there empty handed. Today at Target I did an amazing thing...I bought 2 button down shirts!!!
I have not worn a button shirt since I was a teenager, my boobs were always too big. I am so excited to put together some outfits with my new shirts
