It was a lot colder out than it looked!

I also had on blue earrings when I left the house, then found these red ones on my desk at work, so I thought I would throw them on for some added color.  The only color, besides blue, I intentionally put on while getting dressed was the green scarf...that was only because I was cold!
I love how this outfit worked out, with the mix of textures and blue palette.

The End Is Near...What I Wear...

Unlike most, I am exstatic that the holiday season is half way over...too many fattening dinners, too many presents to buy...money spent, kids without school to occupy their days, daily routines all out of whack!  Don't get me wrong, I love the extra family time, but so much to do and I still have to go to work every day...

So, Christmas vacation for the boys means I had to take them to work with me today...no vacation for me...what a crazy day it was.  My office is now a giant mess and I work-wise I was useless.  But, I did get dressed!

I picked up this cardigan last week at a sale at JCrew.  I love the camel and black combo with the classic retro vibe.  I see this cardigan becoming a frequent flyer in my wardrobe.  I can envision it layered over denim...topping trousers...maybe thrown over a floral dress when the weather warms up.

2 Christmas dinners, 1 Christmas breakfast, 5 more nights of Hannukah, 1 birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, 2 more presents to buy, 2 nanny interviews....and that is just in the next dour days...ahhh!!

Dress-Michael Kors/Cardigan-LOFT/Booties-Gap/Jewelry-Francesca's, Jcrew, Target, F21

Give me a good dress, cardigan and a pile of shiny things and I am set!  This cardigan is one of my favorites...the ruffles provide a step up from the basic black cardigan. 

Yes...I did get a haircut.  I had thought about going a lot shorter and redder... In the end, the familiar won.
I covered the grey and multiple shades of brown and red...the bottom layers were cut about an inch, while top top layers were just trimmed so maybe soon they will meet somewhere in the middle.  Also, growing the bangs out...decision made!

In Blue I Trust...

So, I wore this outfit Friday to work...I meant to post this outfit Friday.  Now, it is Sunday and I am still exhausted.  

I am really into layers of denim lately.  I have two chambray shirts from Madewell that are staples of  my wardrobe.  Dressing up those shirts, paired with the multiple denim skirts that reside on my closet,  I have discovered many new wardrobe combinations!

This shirt is another one of my summer items that I am trying to transition into my fall/winter wardrobe.  So, I rolled down the sleeves and threw on a denim pencil skirt, tights, a cargo jacket for the chill in my office and my brogues.  Speaking of brogues, besides the fact that they are comfy, I love the feeling and memories they evoke.  Whenever I put them on I feel like a little girl...when I was fearless...had my whole life ahead of me...no decisions already made... Plus, there was a boy...he wore brogues...I had a crush...

Back to reality...there is a messy little boy next to me who needs a bath, story and bed!

We All Shine On...

This month everybody over at Everybody, Everywhere are showcasing their sequins and sparkles. I had forgotten about the theme until yesterday. I assumed that I had something sequined in my wardrobe...but, searching through my closet last night I realized I was wrong. So, I decided to go with my sparkly gold sweater. It might be hard to tell, but the cardigan knit has is made up of gold threads... I think that qualifies as sequins and sparkles... Lately instead of always relaying on a plain black skirt as my wardrobe staple, I have been reaching for this lace skirt instead....I think it ads something extra to a basic outfit.

Scenes From The Family Hannukah Party...

I know...Hannukah does not start for another week or so, but this was the only time my side of the family could get together...

 The kids had their very own craft table to keep them busy...The adults kept busy eating all the yummy food my mom made... 

 The boys got to decorate the cake...nothing like a good old fashioned cake roll for some fun eats...

 The leopard print t-shirt I am wearing was one of my summer staples.  While getting dressed this morning, I realized that I had not given it a second look since the seasons changed.  I decided it had been neglected long enough and threw it on with one of my many denim skirts (I might have a problem) and topped with this fun cardi/jacket/sweatshirt hybrid.  The boots were recently found in the bottom of my closet begging to be taken out and moved into the starting rotation...so I obliged them...

 I am so at a loss for other ways to style this fuzzy vest.  I am pretty sure that every time I style it, it ends up over a belted button down with a pencil skirt...not very inventive...

My mind is overwhelmed by all the crap I have going on in my head right now...so, I am off to eat pizza!

One of my favorite dresses...I have worn it before with a long chunky cardi, blazer, denim shirt...but today I decided to try it with my mustard cardi and ankle boots.

So, some of my Cyber Monday presents to myself arrived yesterday...a big box from Bauble Bar!! I used my new Skinny Gear Bangle to create my arm candy...I also layered my new Skulls Bracelet with my watch...love me some Bauble Bar!

I love this skirt...fun pattern...neutral colors...elastic waist...I am also a big fan of this blazer...comfy cotton, slim fit, satin lapels...enough said.

Having to dress up for work everyday is becoming more difficult.  I miss the days with I was home with the kids and I could just wear jeans and sweater or leggings and a tunic...I never thought I would miss dressing casual comfy.

Don't depend on others to do it for you...just do it yourself...
