I just wanted to wish everyone and their friends and family a very happy New Year. I also wanted to take a moment to thank a few people who have shaped my 2010 and will continued to be with me in 2011...My boys, Jack, Alex and especially my husband, the Nanny Granny, my boss/dad, Auntie Anneitta, Cisco the surgeon, mommy friends, the Arrow, Sarah my trainer and especially the blogging community. Without all you guys, I would be less of the person I am today.
Nana...I will miss you always...

Evidence of Avoidance
Worn to Work Thursday, December 29
Today was a good day style wise... Life wise still feeling crap-tastic. I put on this skirt and sweater while running late this morning. I just grabbed a belt because the sweater had no definition... I really like the way this outfit turned out! I know I say this often... But, before entering the blog world I would have never thought to belt a sweater...but now it is just second nature... Wow...evolution!
I am not dealing well with the fact that 2011 is right around the corner...where has the year gone and what have I accomplished...Really do I want to dig there...

So What Wednesdays
Momma Dew at the great blog Life After I "Dew" has a feature called So What Wednesday, so thought I would join in. I have a lot of stuff going on in my head, so I thought this would be a good way to vent and get it all out...
-So what if I only see things in black and white...I am trying to see the gray
-So what if I miss someone I was never really with
-So what if I ate burritos and guacamole 3 days in a row this week
-So what if I care...maybe too much
-So what if I am waiting for you
-So what if I only go to the gym so I can get some peace and quiet...it is the only time besides work I am sans kids
-So what if I think pizza can cure all ills
That was fun...I think I will do that every Wednesday!!

Proof of Life....Proof of Purpose
Worn to Work Tuesday, December 28
I was supposed to have a big meeting today, so I dressed kind of conservatively today. Of course, that means the meeting will be canceled...and it was. Instead of spending the afternoon with a new client having a nice lunch, I had to spend it running back and forth doing work errands--banking, dropping off invoices, lots of things I really did not feel like doing today.
Lately I have been in a funk...not just style wise, but life wise. Debi from the great blog The Truth About Motherhood summed up my feelings perfectly...
I am barely recognizable to myself in the mirror. I have become so immersed in their lives, their dreams and goals that I have forgotten about my own. Well, obviously I have not entirely forgotten, since I am referencing and acknowledging the fact that I ever had dreams and goals of my own, but I have certainly pushed myself to the side in many ways.
Our children are our top priority but shouldn't we be a priority on our own life, as well? Our children need to see us succeed, fail, survive it all and to pick ourselves up and continue on. If I were practicing as a lawyer or a doctor, I would not let it engulf my entire life. I would still allow myself outside interests, friends, hopes, and dreams. If we don’t do the same with Motherhood, who will we be when our children are grown and don’t need us to be their every thing? How will we define who we are if we have completely forgotten who we were?
I just feel lost...

A Charactiature of My Self
Worn to Work Monday, December 27
Skirt-Halogen/tank-Gap/Jacket-Old Navy/Coat-London Fog/Boots,earrings/Target
So, there is this park by where I get my coffee in the morning and since I had discovered a legal parking spot, unlike usual, I decided to brave the 19 degree temperatures and takes pictures there. I got some very concerned/perplexed looks from people walking by...crazy girl setting up her tripod freezing her but off out there.
Today's outfit is a shout out to Aunt Anneitta...
My holidays were pretty tame. Me and my family on my side celebrate Hannukah, so there was not much going on there. But, we went to my husbands side of the family on Christmas eve and Christmas day. Lots of kids running around, presents being opened and eating way too much.
I dressed up for Christmas Eve...
You cannot actually see the details of the dress too much, but it is a brown and black zebra patterned dress and a drapey cardigan.
I love the way the snow photographs while falling...

BEARS WIN!! DIVISION CHAMPIONS!!
ok, now that we have gotten that out of the way...like my new boots? I had a pair just like these when I lived in London. I wore them everyday until I wore through the soles. I used to call them my punk rocker boots...ha! You cannot really tell, but this blazer is sweatshirt material and the lapels are satin.
I have recently discovered that the rumors are true...if you eat healthy, your body feels better. Things have been crazy with me lately and I have not had to to eat good meals...I have eaten a variety of cupcakes, cookies, pizza and too much coffee for meals the last week or so and I can feel it taking a toll on my body. After a sugar migraine last night, I decided time to get my eating into gear...I had homemade vegetable soup for dinner and guac and multi grain chips for a snack during the game. Today I have had a granola bar, wheat bialy, and salad with vegetables and light dressing. I can feel my body cleaner and less sloggy (made up word) already.

Monday...Again...Really
Worn to Work Monday, December 20
That weekend went way to quickly and before I can take a deep breath Monday is here with a vengeance. It was supposed to be really cold today so I layered up. Turtleneck sweater...good for layering and not just accentuation the boobs (like when you wear it on its own), and sweater blazer. Boy am I thankful for all the layers...nearly became a popsicle while taking theses pictures...cherry is the flavor of choice. I bought this denim skirt yesterday at Anthropologie...25% off all sale items..the only way I buy Anthropologie. The boots are also new...I needed a pair of shorter brown ones that would keep my feet fairly dry...Target, the place where you can pretty much get anything! Today I feel cozy, preppy, ready for action...guess it is the leopard print!
Big game tonight...Bears v. Vikings...as long as the Bears don't crap down their leg, the division is theirs...GO BEARS!!!

Nanny Granny Party
I want to say happy birthday to a wonderful women. My friend...my mother. I am not sure what me or my boys would do without her. I want to thank her for all the years of love and support and all the years of love to come.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!
So, for my mom's birthday, we went out for brunch to Pinstripes. Oh my gosh...so much good food...I am so full...Two words...chocolate fountain. Besides the most amazing buffet, Pinstripes has bowling and Bocce Ball. So, of course, Jack and Alex had to bowl. They had so much fun!
After the party, I decided to go do some returns at the mall...well, that was a stupid idea. It was so crowded and so cold. But I did get a few good deals, Banana Republic had %40 off everything and the line wound all the way around the store. Also, I bought a cute denim skirt at anthro...cannot wait to style it this week.

TIme to Make A Change
Worn to Work Thursday,December 16
Long day at work...seems like I have been saying that a lot lately. Nothing like a five hour meeting after 2 two hour drive to make you want to take a giant nap and not wake up until spring! I wanted to dress professional for this important meeting, but still show some of my fashion creativity. I think it was a success...the puffy sweater sleeves, ruffled skirt, and (cannot see it very well)zebra printed tank peeking out from the sweater.
A few exciting things going on mere at the home front...Not ready to divulge anything yet, don't want to jinx it...but there is changes and excitement in the air!

Clashing Issues
Worn to Work Tuesday, December 14
I love this outfit today...I feel festive and sexy...an odd combination. The tights are ribbed and I did not realize it until I got to the office, oops! I think this dress is a very versatile addition to my wardrobe. This winter I plan to wear it with cardigans (obviously), blazers a crew neck sweater, and various belts. It can also be worn during the summer with bare legs and sandals. Plus, I bought it at 40% off. Thanks to all the other bloggers out there, I am now wanting to find ways to remix items in my wardrobe. Also, when buying new things, I first think about how many different things I already have in my closet to wear it with. So, thanks everyone.

Loud Noises
Worn to Work Monday, December 13
Skirt-Fox's/Blazer Mac & Jac/t-shirt-BR outlet/Boots-ATL
I must have tried on everything in my closet this morning before walking out of the house in this loud pattern outfit. My closet does not have any heating vents, so it was pretty chilly in there this morning, so I was thinking of layering for the cold. I tried every blazer with this lace skirt and just pulled this one out because Alex had knocked it off the hanger and it was sitting on the floor.I thought I looked pretty crappy when I walked out of the house, but on my way to work this outfit grew on me...now I like it! Not sure if you can tell, but the blazer is plaid...obviously, skirt lace, and the tights are thick sweater ribbed.
It has just become way too cold to take pictures outside. By the time I set up my tripod, I am freezing and usually cannot feel my fingers. But, I have yet to master the art of taking pictures in the fluorescent lights of the building hallway.
Strangely, i am happy it is Monday...After the massive debacle that last week was, I feel like today is a new start.
Something to make smiles...

Never Said Thank You For That...
Worn to Work Thursday, December 9
I got a new haircut yesterday...chopped off 4 inches...I needed a change.
This is the shortest it has been in a long time...I love it!! The only problem is that it is hard to get into a ponytail when I work out. As I was on the bike yesterday, little sweaty pieces kept slipping out of my ponytail tail and by the time I was some, I had more hair stuck to my face and neck than I did in the rubber band...ahhhh...
I woke up in a bad mood today and things just went down hill from there...when it rains it pours...but you just keep on doing what you have to do.

School Days
Today was my 2 year old boy Alex's first day of school. I was worried that we would not want to stay and scream and cry. So, we got there, found his cubby, hung up his coat and then went to visit the class bunny, Alex was not sure what to think of her, and clung to my skirt like velcro. But, then he found the train table and he was off and I was forgotten. I kissed him bye and he said, "ok, bye, see you later". The teachers said he had a wonderful day, very social and well behaved...they must have been talking about the wrong kid!
My little baby is growing up and I am beginning to feel a little obsolete and lost...

J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets
Worn to Work Monday, December 6
Skirt-ATL/Cardigan-JCrew/Boots-Kenneth Cole/Earrings-Black Sheep
I just bought this cardigan this weekend on super sale at JCrew...I have not been inside one in a while, I usually go to the outlet or order online. So much stuff there I wanted, really had to refrain from buying of everything! I loved this cardigan because of the zipper detail...not sure if you can tell, but the zipper goes all the way up and around the neck and the fun mustardy color. To play off the zipper detail, I paired the cardi with this wool mini with the button closure down the front.
I took these pictures outside...obviously and boy did I get some strange looks setting up the tripod outside my office in the 20 degree high wind temperatures...ha!
Big game tonight...Jets vs. Patriots...In the olden days, I would have gone to a bar to watch the game...drank too much beer and stayed out late. But tonight I will be in my mismatched pajamas cuddling on the couch with the boys when kick-off rolls around...
How times have changed...I guess that is what happens when you become a grown up.

DRESSing Me...
Dress-Gap/Tights-ATL/boots-Kenneth Cole/Necklace-F21
While getting dressed this morning for our family Hannukah party, I just could not figure out what to wear. Twenty minutes into trying on everything in my closet, I settled on this sweater dress and ribbed tights. After all the fuss, I realized that I am more comfortable in a dress or skirt over pants. So, even when I want to dress casually, I veer away from pants...
I love the fun glasses necklace...my mom bought if me me since I have worn glasses since I was five.
I finished all my Hannukah and Christmas shopping this weekend...yeah!! Now I just have to wrap everything.

Friend Friday
Each week the lovely Katy from Modly Chic poses questions for us bloggers to answer and discuss. This weeks queries...
1. How many hours a week do you spend blogging? Has that number
changed since you started blogging?
Not as much as I would like to, but there are only so many hours in a day. I spend about 10 hours a week working on my blog and reading others. At the beginning I did not realize how many hours I would want to spend, but I enjoy it.
2. There is always more you can do, write, read, comment on... how do
you limit your time spent on these tasks?
Unfortunately the time I spend is limited by my free time. Between work, kids and all the family craziness I really have to carve out time to blog. I wish I had more time to work on refining my blog and making it look more professional and creative, but there are only 24 hours in a day. But I am trying...
3. Have you experienced Blogger burnout yet? How have you dealt with
that?
Not yet. Sometimes I feel like a lesser blogger when I see other bloggers fancier photos, more followers, sponsorships and want to just give it up...but I know my blog is just who I am and what I have time for and just remember it is not a competition and be happy with what I am doing.
4. This time of the year is always a lot busier than any other time.
Will your blogging change as a result?
I do not think much will change with my blogging during this time of year. Like I have said before, the whole year is pretty busy in my house. My blogging only suffers this time of year since I sometimes have to take pictures inside because of the weather. Those pics always manage to turn out darker and grainier...
5. Could you foresee a moment in which you are not blogging anymore?
How would you you identify that it's time to walk away?
When blogging becomes a chore that I no longer enjoy, I might walk away.

One Of those Days
Worn to Work Thursday, December 2
Wow...it is December already...
Skirt-Renee C./Sweater-Gap/Boots-Franco Sarto/Ring,Scarf-H&M/Bracelets-Black Sheep
I tried taking these photos three different times today and each one made me look like I was all boobs...I guess that is what I get for wearing a turtleneck...even smaller, they just rule the day! Eventually I got a few I actually like. Standing outside in the 20 degree weather taking pictures, I received a few funny looks...wait, I get those all the time!
Not much else to say today...feeling kind of misunderstood...
Happy Hannukah to all who celebrate!!

Just Breathe
Too Whom It May Concern,
You think you know me but you have no idea who I am. You think I am pretty with a great smile. You think of me as who you remember me to be but I am not sure who that is, I am not even sure who I am now. I am vain, love celebrity filled rags and fashion magazines. I watch too much tv, have a short attention span, and get bored easily. My family is mine, no crossing that line. You think I am intellectually curious but I am not sure how intellectual I actually am, but I am always curious. If you are good with the ever-changing me than I am good with you.

Supermom Never Had Two Boys
Worn Tuesday, December 29
Boots-Kenneth Cole/Jeans,Tank-Old Navy/Sweater-Gap
I hate having to take outfit photos inside...but it is too darn cold to trek out there during my lunch break!
I tried to put together an outfit today that would be functional for all the running around I had to do. Not sure I like it now that I see it in pictures...oh well, too late, better luck next time. Today was long...school drop off...work with Alex in tow...school pick up...babysitter...work...and back to the babysitter. I swear, supermom never had two little boys who like to have screaming contests in the car and she must have mainlines caffeine...

Back to the Grind
Worn to work Monday, November 28
Dress-Calvin Klein via Fox's/cardigan-Nordstroms Rack/Boots,Jewelry-ATL
I feel very professional in this outfit today. Just bought this dress yesterday after contemplating and admiring it all week. I love the detailing at the neckline and the waist, not sure if you can see it in the pictures, but it has pleating and kind of a zebra black and brown pattern. It had a fabric belt, but I switched it out for a funkier one.
It's not easy to get back into the swing of work after so many days off, when my alarm when off this morning, I was slightly disturbed, but back to the grind.
My baby is starting school this week. I gave him his new Diego backpack this weekend and he has been carrying it around everywhere...so cute!
